The 1995 was a year I'll never forget. I was divorced, into gambling and on the verge of suicide. I was working a night security job on a car lot along I-10 in Vidor, Texas.
Around 12:30am I prayed for the Lord to get me out of gambling because I was homeless and suicidal. I'd get off around 5:30am drive my ex-wifes van to her house and crawl in the back seat to sleep in the cold. My kids would walk by the van to get on the school bus, knock on the side of the van and tell me time to go and sleep in their bed.
While I prayed the split second I said amen, a stretch lemo, heading west bound on the freeway lost its left rear wheel. 2 black ladies and 2 black men got out safely. I let the men use the van to find their wheel and the ladies to use office phone to call Houston for another lemo.While waiting for the men to return I told the ladies about my life. One of the ladies turned out to be a Baptist preacher out of Houston.
When the men returned they laid hands on me and prayed. I joined a church that very morning and re-dedicated my lifet to the Lord. I no longer gamble and now I'm living in a newly built home with my kids and their family.
